Post Pet Friendly Hotels in India

Hi,
I am starting a Master Thread for listing Pet Friendly Hotels in India. I am planning to travel in India for about 18 months with my Golden Retreiver. Hence I plan to post all the pet friendly hotels I find (before and during the trip).

Please post if you know of a pet friendly hotel you would recommend.

Cheers!

Can't leave her behind either ... plan to give her a real short trim ... I know of expats who have moved with their GRs.
Plus we have family in some of the places who'd be willing to take care of her whenever we end up going to places where we can't take her along.

Leaving her behind is not an option.

See..otels across India have different guidelines regarding pets...you will have to contact them beforehand twice or thrice to confirm with them..

Its gonna be a new concept for hotels across india.

The hotel guys will definitely blink if you ask them. May be there are a few, but mostly Pet friendly hotels are just not visible in India.

May be some private resorts does that, But I havent heard anything about them....

INDeco Group of hotels in Tamil Nadu have PDO Program please find below details,

“PETS DAY OUT” (PDO), aims at guests with Home pets and is available across all our 3 Resorts. This is strictly during weekdays, between Mon – Thur only.

1. All INDeco hotels will accommodate only House pets – Dogs, Cats and Birds. Other pets need prior confirmation and approval of the INDeco hotels management.

2. Pets are allowed only in designated pet rooms allotted by the Hotel mgmt. For this purpose, prior booking is a must.

3. Only one pet per room

4. Pets should be kept on a leash at all times when outdoor and only inside the rooms other than their walking time. Guests are requested to keep the doors locked.

5. Pets are not allowed on grass or in the landscaped areas. Pets can be taken on walks on separate trails or pathways that are away from buildings and landscaping. The resort staff will guide on this during the check in and any other time too, when the need rises.

6. Guests would be given Black trash bags to collect pet’s waste, which should be discarded in the main trash in each resort.

7. Pets are not to be left unattended at any times

8. Guests should take full responsibility for the action of pet including damages done to the property and the surroundings. In which case, guests will be charged for the same.

9. Extensive barking or other pet behavior that disturbs other guests or the resort staff and their operations will result in immediate removal of the pet from the resort.

10. Pets are not allowed to stay in the guests’ vehicle. In case for some unavoidable reason, pets stay inside the vehicle, the usual charges levied for pets per night inside the room would be applicable.

11. Guests should hang the tag that says” Do not disturb. Pet inside” on the door.

12. Guests should inform the front office or the housekeeping about their plan to stay inside the room each morning and fix a suitable time to ensure cleaning of the room

13. Each guest should fill the pet entry agreement form before check in.

14. Special pet services can be rendered to guests in giving info and details on veterinary clinics and pet shops nearby.

15. Guests are expected to bring the Pets vaccination certificate or doctor’s certificate for verification during check in.

16. Pet foods, Pet vessels and pet bedding should be bought in by the guests.

17. Pets cannot be bathed inside the rooms or the resort premises.

18. Pets cannot play over the Bed, Sofas or any other wooden furniture that’s inside the room.

19. As a special gesture, a spl gift for every pet awaits during the check in time.

20. Each pet would be charged Rs.1500 per night for the room alone.

Try the personal touch to address this. The threads below will show that there are few overtly pet friendly places but quite a number that will adjust to get the custom..

Hi 10yearitch - we have been travelling for last 8 years with our GSD. There are in fact many hotels in India who allow pets (dogs). People with out pets may not be aware of this fact. If you share the parts of India you plan to travel - I can suggest a few of them. You may also check the site www.petvacations.in
Enjoy...

Hi
I have travelled extensively over India wid my Lasha Apso dog....just been to Himachal for 17 days ...most guest houses/homestays allow pets .highly recommended Sunshine guest house at Manali, Prakash guest house at Sangla .....like someone has said there are loads of accos available that do not mind dogs ....in fact they gen have 1 of their own too !!!!
Pet vacations is one of the websites ....try www.mygreatstay.com....this is a homestay option ....where gen pets are allowed ...www.cultureaangan.com offers excellent homestays in Maharashtra at 3 places, if you need details at specific locations write in to me at aditi.august@gmail.com

Also have seen numerous Golden retrivers in Mumbai....hence dont worry ....she will do fine

Seems like a good idea. India doesnt have many pet friendly hotels/resorts and if these guys have come with a plan, its a welcoming change. I dont see any reason why anyone shouldnt be happy. Ofcourse, unless and otherwise they are not animal lovers or petowners or ppl lazy to take responsibility of their pets....
