I went through the new 600 million dollar Bengaluru airport
on the 6th of July ..sure it's clean and very extremely lit up ouch but its 2 hours from the city and is surrounded by the farmland of 1 million displaced, bought out persons.and not much else. Well I can't stay away from India long and just bought my tickets to return Sept 12th. Flying from Vancouver to Bangalore through Hong Kong. Getting into that bright new airport at 1;30 am. with my next flight to Bhubaneswar at 10:30 what am I suppose to do? I could really use a nice nap and a shower by then and I can't seem to find any information about a transit hotel in or near this place. I did not book the domestic flight yet as I want to secure a crash pad and if needed I could fly out 24 hours later but why hang around Bangalore. I have seen it all there is no more to see. Traffic, construction, no air to breath etc... Waiting to hear some good advise from you |

exactly, what advise are you looking for?
fly out of bangalore to wherever your destination is - the first flight avaiable... and keep the sprucing up bit till you reach your destination. AFAIK [as far as i know] nothing close by to BIAL that you can avail of - unless they have some facilities in the airport itself. :brishti friendly tap on the shoulder - if you've already begun your oh-ah-ouch routine about things-that-dont-work-in-india, must begin immediately for a mood makeover - or else... ![]() |

Dear brishti
Thanks for your reply
if you read my thread ,I tell you exactely what I am looking for... a place to rest and shower after traveling from Vancouver to Hong Kong a 14 hour flight then 3 hours until the next flight to Bangalore which lasts 5 and a half hours. Have you ever tried this routine... plus immigration etc... It is stressful at the best of times The next domestic flight to my destination, Bhubaneswar is eight hours later. There is no transit hotel or even a shower in the new Bengaluru It is not just fixing my makeup, ah-ouch kind of problem I have spent about 8 months a year in Mother India over several years now. I consider Her my real home. I have experienced many great and terrible things and learned a lot. I will continue my journey for lifetimes perhaps. If I could just sleep on those long plane rides I'd be ok but usually the transcontinental flights leave me exhausted somebody told me about Cloud Nine Guest House Do you know anything about that place? THANKS Mohiniatma |

another idea?
Greetings, M,
http://www.plaza-ppl.com/ They have a shower/rest area at Hong Kong Airport. Perhaps it would be best to use this facility, during your time there between flights, as nothing like it exists (unfortunately) at the new BLR. I think Cloud Nine is far away-- close to the OTHER Bangalore Airport. I have a simlar problem, and booked a room Fantasy Golf Resort, near the new airport, for some time to nap and shower prior to a long flight in December. Our wonderful travel agent asked her local reps to check it out; they said it looks fine. It's not inexpensive--but it's a lot less than the new airport hotel, opening in 2009, will be. Good luck, and do report back if you find a good place near the new airport! |

Hotel ten minutes from new BLR
As an FYI for travelers to the new airport in Devanahalli, Fantasy Golf Resort is only a ten minute drive from there (traffic willing!).

Hello,
rebeccam , n and all Thanks for your ideas and info the cloud nine is too far and too expensive over 2000RS the Fantasy Golf Resort is close but expensive. I checket out their web page mostly package deals with a lot of stuff I am not interested in at all. http://www.fantasygolfresort.com/package.html 2500Rs -7000Rs Its about the only option if you really need to get a room close to the airport I think the suggestion from rebeccam to use the facilities at the Hong Kong airport are a very good idea. Then just find a quiet corner in the Bengaluru and wait it out for seven hours get on that air deccan flight to Bhubaneswar then get a nice Hotel like Ginger and recover from the trip and celebrate being back in the most exciting, vibrant country in the world So what do you think about a hotel in Bhubaneswar looking for something around 900 - 1700 RS ? clean and quiet I also heard of Hotel Siddhartha My destination is really Puri but I want to be rested when I get there so I can remember how beautiful it was. Puri Dhama Ki Jaya ! |
