In that case I can suggest you Hotel Castle, run by HPTDC. Its an old castle (also believed to be haunted !), now converted into a hotel. Pretty comfortable, I must say.
At Naggar you can visit the Roerich art gallery. Apart from that, there is an abundance of beautiful nature to soak in. The views of Kullu valley from Naggar are unbeatable !

Shimla, I really appreciate your replying to my posts. I read a lot abt Hotel Castle and people say that the rooms are not very comfortable. I am looking for some homely accomodation someone's place where I can rent out a room for 2-3 days. People have mentioned that in their posts however I have already PM'ed Alan D and others but they don't seem to respond.
Hi, I stayed at the Alliance guest house run by a french guy & his grown up indian family ( he's been there about 25 yrs) The place has a very laid back atmosphere & it is halfway up the hill between the castle & the museum & gallery. The rooms are small but very clean & cosy only 1 has attached bath the others are shared bath. The castle hotel is now refurbished so much that it does not look old anymore i was disappointed but the roerich gallery & museum make up for it. Despite Naggars close proximity to Manali it's a different atmosphere altogether somewhere where you can relax in the quiet & watch daily village life go by. kk

Thank you for your reply KK. Do you have any contact numbers/any other suggestions for accomodation nearby? Howz the food? How abt car parking? Would it be safe? What abt hot water ? Are these places easy to locate? What is the name of the French guy? Does he still owns the place? Will have enough privacy? How are the people of the village? Do I need to be armed ?Thnks. Hi, You will find their contact details in the L.P. there is plenty of accomo nearby you shouldn't need to book. The food is great like i said he's french! parking is no problem. If you get the 1 room with a bathroom it has a boiler for hot water otherwise it's hot buckets. Its easy to locate there is only 1 road. He'll still be there he as been 25yrs! The people are friendly & don't give you any hassle. Yes you may need to be armed when i was there the bathroom was invaded by 2 giant spiders bigger than my hand i mean seriously big like bigger than a tarantula! kk
Naggar
HI
I have been in Naggar. My parents used to reside in a small village called Sarsai between Manali and Naggar. Naggar houses the Russain born painter
Roerich's house and paintings. It is a small hilly village. While I have not stayed at any lodges there, there are a couple of nice restaurants.
You can go trekking from there to various places, you can also go to Malana.
I can ask my parents for more info. if you like! If you wish to stay in Sarsai, I can ask for accomodation.

that sounds scary but I think I am not afraid of Spiders. Whoa !~ Well! Never came across any, so cannot really tell how will I feel in my wet pants in chilling cold. BTW, how did you kill that one? I am really annoyed by bugs, I hate cockroaches. I'd prefer riding on an untamed lion than on a tamed cockroach. I have tried setting a few roaches on fire by spraying my deo spray but these jerks are tough to kill ! God - I hate them.
Guys, thank you very much for your support. I might also go for skiing training at DMAS in january. Let's see how all this works out. I will be in touch and if someone has any more info, kindly provide.
Thank you all very much.
Regards
Sukhamrit.
