Looking for special resort Kerala or GOA

Hi,

New to this site and I'm planning a trip to India (first time). We have been travelling in China for the past couple of months and we are going to do just a couple weeks in India. First week Delhi, Agra, Jaipur.

Second week we'd like to spoil ourselves before we head back to the cold cold canadian winter. So we are looking for a very special resort, preferably beach side, either in Goa or Kerala. We'd like to be on a beautiful beach, that is not too busy, in a beautiful resort. Our budget is 3000-4000 Rs. a night. But we'd be willing to go a little higher for the right place.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as there is obviously a lot out there and it is hard to know what is really good. Any recommendations for the north at a tighter budget would be helpful as well.

I stayed at this resort in November. I don't believe I've seen nicer grounds anywhere--it's a huge place. Rooms were first rate. Service was not as good--I suspect the hotel has recently changed hands.

Fabulous seafood at the beach side restaurant.

I think the cost is higher than your budget but it was a great spot to relax amid a hectic travel schedule and I would recommend it for self-pampering.

But this resort is way out of my league.

I'm looking for 3000-4000 inr, this one is 15000 inr.
My maximum budget would be 5000.
