Looking for budget hotels in Chennai?...Avoid this one at all costs

All,

This post applies to everyone and it specifically applies to foreign tourists looking for a good time in India. If your travel stop includes Chennai (formerly known as 'Madras') and you are on the search for cheap hotels, then you are most likely to run into 'HOTEL MAATHUS' in he Adayar area of Chennai.

My strong suggestion to those of you considering this hotel would be 'GO SOMEPLACE ELSE'. These folks are located behind a septic tank and they do not mention this when you book a room. The rooms stink of sewage. When you complain, nothing is done to redress the issue. When you refuse to pay for bad service, their managers shout at you (can you beleive this???...they actually SHOUT AT CUSTOMERS). There is this guy called B.R.RAJAN with whom we had a very bad experience. He would not listen to us and kept shouting at us and used foul language.

Besides the bad rooms, these folks also have an overpriced restaurant, do not clean rooms and generally have a poor attitude towards customer service. So, AVOID THEM. I am also posting below the address of Hotel Maathus so you are not misled into booking a room with them.
