Lodging in Delhi

I am arriving from Mumbai to Delhi around 8pm. I need a hotel for only one night. It will be me and my mom.

Please recommend a budget but very decent/safe hotel in Delhi.

We will be leaving the next morning for Agra.

There's a lot of advice about hotels in Delhi in various threads on this site. I suggest you search them first. If you fail to find what you want after that, ask again. IMers are very generous with their advice, but they do appreciate someone doing their 'homework' first!

I actually contacted a car company. They said that they would provide lodging in Hotel Good Palace......

Does anyone know anything about that hotel?
I can't find any useful information. I have searched the internet.

I recommend the Paharganj area (Main Bazaar), it's very close to the Central train station. You will find a large number of budget hotels, furthermore the area is safe and you will meet many other backpackers there. Enjoy!

I can't find much info about Hotel Good Palace either, but I know that Intrepid Travel will be using them in their upcoming tours.
They are a respectable tour company based in Australia, so I would think it's OK.

Hi ya,
I know that the Hotel Good Palace is in the Karol Bagh area. I stayed at the Hotel Arpit Palace in Karol Bagh and it was quite nice and clean. I was about a 15 min ride to train station. They have good room service and the Cross roads resturant is next good.

I do agree with comments of misstee to stay in Hotel Good Palace. I have stayed there in Delhi. They have four chain hotel nearby in the same area. It is like Singh palace, Singh Continental, Good Palace and Bill Palace.

I appreciate Mr.Ashwani as a manager in Singh Palace. He is really helpfull and will arrange pickup from the Airport.

Hotel is quite recommendable.

This Hotel has been recommended to me by friends. Prices include free railway/airport pickup.

That's a good deal for the first night, I'd be hoping for a discount on any subsequent nights though

I just booked with Hotel Good Palace. Since I'm going on the "Indian Unplugged" tour with Intrepid and this is the hotel that they use, I figured that it would be easiest to stay here for a few nights before the trip starts, rather than change to another hotel.
I do wish I could find more information on them, though. I guess I'm TOO used to having a website for everything.
