Hi,
I want comfort in a hotel room after traveling by plane for 20+ hours. My arrival city in India is Kolkata and would like recommendations for a hotel (no more than $30US) with A/C and good bed and no minaret nearby waking me up to the call of the devote. My travel book is way out of date and the 'cheap' hotels on line are almost US prices. So, any suggestions? |

a good place to stay
just returned from india and found that the broadway hotel was a great place to stay in kolkata and a good intro. to india. it is away from the main back packing area (fantastic in my opinion) has great helpful service, clean rooms and a great restaurant downstairs. it is reasonably priced and mainly used by business men website is http://business vsnl.com/broadway add- 27A Ganesh Chandra Avenue, email-broadway@vsnl.com someone reccomendeded it to me from this forum. this forum by the way,has been an invaluable resource and our trip would have turned out very different if we had not followed the advice when we were in the planning stages. hope this helps.
