Kailash Hotel in Jaipur

The Kailash Hotel is the only budget hotel I can find which is actual;ly within the "pink city". However, other information on it is pretty scarce. Given that a double room is R240 with private bath, I would imagine that it's fairly basic... but still, in this wonderful area it might be quite an experience! Does anybody have any first-hand information about the Kailash?

I know your question about Kailash was posted ages ago, but I am wondering if you ended up staying there, and if you would recommend it.
Thanks

Quoting myself:

Dera Rawatsar, D-194/c, Vijay Path, Behind Sindhi Camp Bus Station, Bani Park, Jaipur-302016.
Certainly not easy to find, even for auto drivers, but if you're reasonably fit, within walking distance from the centre. A charming place, not too many rooms, so the service was very personal and considerate. The kind of place where when you get to the miniscule front desk, they already have your key in their hand. Owned and run by an old Maharani, who has decorated the dining room with photos of the Maharaja and their son. "Park" is a fair description of the environment. You could even breath the air!

I have no idea of the price, as this was part of a package bought in Delhi. It should be very good value, low mid-range?

Very easy on the pocket book.
close to LMBH (or something like that) for quick food.
as central as you can get (a block from Hawa Mahal).
I would stay there again.
No frills.
hot water brought to you in a bucket.

Hi guys
Another old thread full of cobwebs (just needs a quick dusting)

But since it was a few years old, I'm wondering if any member has actually stayed at Hotel Kailash (Jaipur)? It gets a brief mention in LP but that's all.

I was hoping to stay somewhere very central on my next vist but there doesn't seem to be much? LMB gets a mention too but I thought this was a posh sweet shop?

Any similar hotels popped up in the vacinity over the last few years?

Hi Rockland27
Johari Bazaar would be a perfect place for me A few others have cropped up on the 'Trip Advisor' map that weren't there last time I looked: Rajdeep Hotel & Jaipur Emerald. Have noted LMB too.
Had a look at Hotel Rockland too, for prices but all the dates I entered into 'Last Minute.com' came up "sorry not available"

Thanks for helping

For all those who are interested to know where is hotel Kailash:

It's situated in Johri Bazar near Agrasen Market. To be more specific it's just opposite Purohit Ji ka Katra.

It is decent enough.

I paid 400 and had a room with a strong fan, large bed and western bathroom although the highest shower head didnt work so i used the taps about 4 feet from the ground.

My train was late and i arrived at 2am without reservation so didnt feel in a good position to negotiate price. I told them i didnt want to do any paperwork until the next day as i was very tired. They then woke me at approx 6am to do it! Are the police really so strict about this?!

Jaipur is a beautiful city and it is having many such hotels. There are many options of hotels as you like and the main question is how much you can pay for a hotel room. Many such hotels are located near sindhi camp and railway station.
