ISKCON Guest House - Juhu Beach - June 2011
While this place is a bit pricey [AC Double Rs.2,995/ USD 67] it was one of the most pleasant hotels in India in which I've stayed. Juhu Beach itself overall is rather upscale. Very low-key atmosphere; very professional staff; hospitality is abundant but not intrusive. The hotel has obvious security -- including baggage scanners like airports use. The room with "western" bathroom was in perfect repair, with an above-average number of lights and electrical sockets. AC; fan; larger-than-average mini-refrigerator. In-room WiFi available for a fee. The white-tablecloth restaurant was spotless, with a good variety of food -- and was willing to fix any lacto-veg dish for which the kitchen had ingredients. I guess I am saying that this was a very no-hassle, peaceful kind of place. Temple tours are available; the music and chanting did not seem an issue when one was outside of the AC/ sound-proofed areas. Indian families appeared to be the primary guests.
