Hi sgipec,
I just answered the Madurai one :-) where I never stayed, being someone with enough of family members to stay! But, Kodaikanal Tamilnadu is one I've stayed, albeit long back. TTDC hotels are more comfortable than lot of private run ones. I guess, you will enjoy the stay, and get food of your choice. |

Their site: http://www.greenlandskodaikanal.com/
Guess you could block the rooms by calling them. Also try bargaining since its off-season ![]() Also just have a peep into this thread: Kodai: Greenlands? |

Hi sgipec,
I see few replies. The hotel is a bit away, and you need some commute facility. But when I stayed, the rooms were pretty spacious and maintained OK. If you want sparkling tiles and floors, then this may not come up to that. But for what you pay, this was acceptable to me. |

Greenlands Youth Hostel...Update
Hi
I stayed at the hostel in March this year. The location has FANTASTIC VIEWS. Choice of rooms. The Dorm and single rooms are dark, dingy and smelly. I stayed in the most expensive Dbl. room with attached bathroom and panoramic views. Hot water came on at 7.30am for 1hr. The price was Rs.800 per day. I really was looking forward to staying one week But the beds were Rock Hard. I thought I was the only one to find the bed most uncomfortable, but my Ozzie neighbours were also complaining and for this reason I reluctantly had to move. Other disadvantages: the hotel was too far from the town / lake and walking back at night there is no lighting. The simple breakfast on offer, omlette and toast was slow in coming and always cold. There was an invasion of monkeys at intervals, so you had to secure your room at all times. I moved to a hotel about a 1km. further down towards the town and found the most EXCELLENT HOTEL which was ABSOLUTELY SPICK 'N' SPAN and HIGHLY RECC. Very Good Service and good views. The price for a Dbl with attached bath was Rs.650 It's not too far from the town center. Unfortunately, at 'this moment' I do not have the name of the hotel at hand but I will do some research and get back to you a.s.a.p. I remember it was very near the entrance of Coakers Walk and a school. I believe its a relatively new hotel. Cheers

Hi Britishraj,
Thanks for sharing your experience at "Greenlands Youth Hostel". Now I am eagerly waiting for the hotel name you talked about. Please share once you find it. |
