oh, sorry guys...
well, it seems noone ever stayed in Hyderabad before.. so we'll let you know if it is any good there...

By the way, we booked the Highway hotel in Bombay, through hostelworld.com, and that was actually very okay.
The staff, especially girls at the reception were great!

Thumbs up

I'll try and do as many as I can over the next few months, Mike.

One question: do you have to know all the details (telephone number etc) or can you just post what you can remember?

Obviously I'll post everything I can recall. It's just that I'm notoriously sieve-minded when it comes to stuff like this.

SOS: Missing Person...

Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?

He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Collect the hotel's business card and stash it in your journal so that you don't have to try to remember those details!

HOTEL listing section

Hi Mike, I know you 're working 16h per day on updating this useful site, and maybe you can not appreciate what I 'm writing, but I think that the Hotel Listing is one of the most interesting and useful forum (even if most users just read, instead of building the section). The section was rightly divided State by State (Andra Pradesh, Bihar, etc) and really easy to read and to build, why have you changed is ? Please mind about it, if you are still working on. Thank.

I'll do my best,
Everyone do like the other poster says ask for a business card from the hotel you like, they will have one and just jot the prices down on the cards so you'll remember it all when you get back to your flat!!
Grab a few and hand them out along the way, if you liked the place send them some custom!!

Happy Traveling

Its actually 2 cities, Hyderabad & Secunderabad but whatever.. I have never stayed in a hotel there because it would offend family. We did think of a weekend night apart once. Maybe, in the food section..

Looks like the Hotels section is still being rebuilt -- note the link in the top left menu hasn't yet been reinstated. I had a look in there, and the follow-up posts to the reviews aren't being displayed. The heading "DJ name and Genre" kind of gives away the origins of the script being used.

When it's finished I hope everyone will pause to post at least one review of a hotel, because this is one part of IM which really needs more contributions. Even a bad review is better than no review at all (unless you're the owner!)

I was in Hyderabad in November; stayed at Hotel Harsha, which was very good. I guess my review has disappeared; I'll try to reconstruct it.

hotel websites

The Open Directory Project at www.dmoz.org
will take you to a large number of Indian hotel websites, most are in the middle to upper range - also listed are a few lower-middle/budget places.

The correct email address for Hotel Sea Lord, P.D. Mello Rd. Mumbai is sealord@hathway.com
(Of course, a hotel with a functioning computer is no guarantee that the air/con or plumbing will also be working!!)

Hotel Reviews

lonelyaztec

I know it's a lot of work but it would be good if you could put reviews of some of these hotels in the hotels section

Your post above will soon disappear into the general works!
