Hi has anyone stayed in the Holiday Inn in Khajuraho and/or the Jaypee Palace in Agra?
I'm considering taking a tour which includes these hotels, but don't know either of them. Stephanie |

hi stephanie
yes, i have stayed in both the hotels you shortlisted, the HOLIDAY INN, in KHAJURAHO, and the JAYPEE in AGRa..both are fine reasonably deluxe properties, with pool, resturant, coffee shop, etc....many tour groups utilize these properties, so they standard is somewhat uniform..The Holiday Inn in KHAJ, is actually quite nice,(i was mucho suprised!), as i had been many times to KHAJ before leading groups and stayed at usually stayed at the Taj Chandela, or the Trident and even the Clarks. When they told me Holiday inn, i was like, (oh no, not that!)..but really, it was quite lux for KHAJ, with nice big rooms, good pool, and yup, full bar with french wines.....All the properties on this level (INDIAN 4/5 STAR) are all pretty similar IN KHAJ, but yes, the HOLIDAY Inn was surprisingly nice.. About Agra, kind of the same story, there are about 3 or 4 hotels that are in the (4/5 indian star range) and all fine..these include the Trident, JAYPEE, and CLARKS and the Taj View(not the brightest of the Taj hotels.)...they will all lend a comfotable stay, and are utilized by both groups and higher end-travelers. ...Beyond those mentioned if anyone is intersted now that i am on the subject of Agra, there are some other properties in Agra, the next one up in scale would be the mughal Sheraton and for ultra luxurious, serious pampering and mughal splendour par excellence, the AMAR VILLAS!!.. .But the jaypee is a fine place, and i am sure you will be comfortable..happy travels..folks can pose a question or drop me a note about many a Indian property, as i have kind of lived my life in Indian hotels and continue to do so..happy travels...bonita..

Holiday Inn Khajuraho is an interesting property- slightly old now- wioh frayed carpet and stuff... but overall a nice hotel- good service- very safe. Taj Chandela is however the better choice anyday. The Jaypee is an excellent choice.

These are hotels where your travel agent probably has good rates. The Agra Jaypee is an impressive place (quite grand in fact). I don't know about the Holiday Inn in Khajuraho except that most Holiday Inns conform to their usual standards.
Go ahead!
