Hotel Grand, Amritsar?
Has anyone stayed there? What did you think? Is it worth the 800R they're quoting me? Thanks! :-)

We stayed there last year. The hotel is ok for the price, had better - had far worse! It did some lovely food (butter chicken) and serves cold beer!

Are you already off to Asr?
I am from Asr, and If I am not wrong, this hotel is right opposite to the railway station ! -On the busiest roads of Amritsar ! Try not to stay here. There are a lot more options on Mall Road, It would be better if you try out a guest house ! Butter chicken tasts good anywhere in Asr ! |

In fact, being convenient to the train station is a good thing. You don't need to find transport to get to the hotel and there is always a rickshaw around.
When we stayed there though, they had some sort of private party downstairs and by heck, they made some noise. |

Oh Yeah ! there's this pub downstairs called "Bottoms Up". Stay where you will but there are good hotels around (5 mins walk) like Sun City Towers etc. which are again in vicinity to the railway station.

I did stay at the Grand Hotel and I really quite liked it. It was much nicer than many other hotels I've stayed in so far (albeit it was also more expensive), and it has a garden area that's really nice for chilling out in and eating outdoors. A small oasis of calm! In hindsight though I kind of wish I'd stayed at the Golden Temple's accommodation.
