Hotel close to Kolkata Airport
Hi all. I shall be arriving at Kolkata Airport around midnight and would like to stay at a hotel close to the airport.
Is the MBD hotel operational? In January 2008 it looked empty and in disrepair. Do you know the Ashok Hotel? Is it close to the airport? Can you recommend any decent hotel located in the proximity of Kolkata Airport? Many thanks for your help! |

What's the budget ? For example, Hyatt & Sonar Bangla are close to the airport.

Both the ITC Bangla and the Hyatt are rather pricey and some distance away from the airport. I would like to find a hotel for about Rs.3000-4000/-.

Why not taking an Air Conditioned room with attached bath at the Airport Authority Guest House for the night at much cheaper rate or otherwise you can go to Heritage Hotel on VIP Road,which is a budget hotel and located at about 1-2 k.m.from the airport.The rate is lower than your budget.

Yeah,there are two guest houses,one in the international building and the other one in domestic.When you come out of the immigration/cutoms then go to the Airport Managers chamber and book your room.
By the way MBD is still closed and the same was only the Airport Ashok earlier. Last edited by abhijit.s : Jul 24th, 2008 at 18:46. |
