Sorry cant give you any review. But can say that not located in a popular tourist area. The area is mainly muslim/christian dominated. Home of Mother Teressa is near by .Main city centre(Chowringhee/Esplanade) is about 3-4 kms from the hotel.Park Street is near by.From outside the Hotel looks ok.Not much decent road side food/eating place nearby (which is very common in other parts of the city)

Can log on these for some option

Thanks ddutta.. I'll take a look.
Is there a 'must stay' place in Calcutta - a bit like the "Windsor" in Cairo ? A faded Raj remenant still ticking over with leftover charm...
Would be interested to hear about anything..

Fairlawn Hotel is a good choice. It is popular with the foreign tourists due to its location. Strategically located at the heart of the city yet not much traffic. Lots & lots of decent eating places around the hotel. Shopping / window shopping will be an added advantage .
