Hotel at Bangalore airport for post-flight sleep?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a hotel at or very near to Bangalore airport? I land at 3am. Its my first time in India and I just want to get my head down and catch up on sleep on arrival.

Bangalore Airport is very far from the main city area. There are no hotels at walking distance from the airport. There are also no hotels within the airport complex yet.
So, your options are:
a. Avail the transit area to just take a short nap on reclining chairs & use the restroom etc.
b. Go into one of the lounges (might have to pay a decent fee unless you are a member via your card) & get more comfortable chairs & noise-free zone for a nap (no beds though).
c. Take a cab or bus to reach the nearest hotel, which might be on NH7, which is at least 6km from airport.

BTW, This one says '5 minutes drive (one kilometer off the airport)', which seems to be misleading. Even the Google map link in the site seems incorrect, try this URL instead:

If correct, this is about 250m from Sadahalli gate & about 8-9 km to/from Airport terminal. Use your discretion.

Avoid Fantasy Golf Resort , which is very near the airport. Despite its glossy website photos..unless your fantasies are of nightmares, keep away from this place!

Are you arriving on BA flight from London?

Where is your next stop? Are you transferring to another flight out of BLR? Then, lounge is an idea, although i dont recall anything other than chairs .Oh well, you can sleep sitting up!! (-: if you are going to Bangalore city anyway, i agree with paramiyer, you might as well head into the city , find a decent hotel there, and sleep that day.

The only thing i've heard about Hotel Presidency is that it is convenient for the airport, ok, but basic. It probably does not look as nice in reality as the web site makes it appear.

Go ahead and head into town if you are staying in Bangalore. 0300 is aout the only time traffic moves freely and you'll be at a central hotel in around 45 minutes.
