I have searched this website and found some good reviews but was just wondering if anyone knows good or bad about the following which I am having trouble finding:
Jaipur - Karnot Mahal Jodhpur - The Heritage Jaislmer Imperial Hotel or Dhola Maru Ranthambhore - Ankur Resort or Tiger Moon Resort Agra - Royale Residency or Howard Park (This site had 1 good review) Khajuraho - Hotel Jhankar or Clarks Varanasi - Pradeep or Palace on River (Rashmi Guest House) Thanks! |

I have only stayed at Palace on River, Rashmi Guesthouse...It is a great place to stay..try and get a Ganges View room if u can...The staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and there is a rooftop restaurant called The Dolphin Restaurant, which offers great views and pretty decent food.
It is probably about a 3* hotel...but quite expensive because of the locaton, which is superb..right by the main ghat so u can hear all the ceremonies going on and just a short walk to view them..Also u can catch a boat ride just outside the hotel for an early morning or evening Ganges tour. Depending on what floor u stay, there could be many stairs to climb up, so if u have bad knees, or other types of leg injuries, be sure to ask for a lower floor...however, u would still have to walk to the top floor to go the restaurant!! Also, if u do stay here...make sure u get the airport transfer included as i have heard other's say they have taken a taxi and had a hard time finding it. The only complaint i had...is that we stayed just after moonsoon so in the evenings, the hotel was totally full of bugs and it was ridiculous!! WE loved our stay and totally recommend it... Also, they have a young guy named Pappu working there, whom is trying to make a few bucks to support his family, so he will gladly take u on a walking tour or where ever u want at a reasonable price..Infact..he let's u decide what u want to pay him at the end!! ![]() |

The Imperial Hotel is a newish one, decorated in a 'modern Indian' style. It is close to Hanuman Circle and walking distance to the Fort. Dhola Maru is o.k. but starting to 'fade' a bit. It's quite a little distance from the main market and Fort areas. Check out Hotels listed here - there are some that are better than these two for the same rates. Kharma Queen, Shahi Palace, Fifu Resort,Nachana Haveli, Mandir Palace are some that spring to mind.
