hi,
i recently was on a trip in kerala (wayanad, munnar, thekaddy, kottayam and cochin) and stayed in homestays in various locations. I find homestays better as it includes good company, local cultural cuisine (home-cooked), basic aminities and free tourist information. If booking for a homestay, make sure it is government authorized. There are lot of unauthorized ones which lack in hygiene and many required services. In Kerala, they charge upto 2000-3000 per day, depend on silver, gold or diamond category of the homestay. Make sure that you confirm the all-inclusive facilities, as few charge extra for specific services (like cultural entertainment, arrangement of tour guides, etc.) Three homestays which I would recommend would be >>'Elephant Corridor' in Coorg (link: http://www.coorghomestay.piczo.com/?cr=6) >>'Pavithram' in Munnar (link: http://www.facebook.com/.../PAVITHRA...AY/74057335208) >> 'Koshys homestay' Thekaddy (link: www.koshysperiyar.com) regards, Khushboo Sahrawat
