| Do I need to book hotel rooms in advance?? I'll be in India from November to January, starting around Varanasi and heading south... Do I need to book hotel rooms in advance? I'm really gonna be roughing it India, so the cheap rooms don't bother me. Will there be lots of options for someone like me? Ry

| there'll be lots of options and u don't need to book rooms. Except around new years and chritsmas then it might make sense to ensure that u have some accomodation reserved a few days this and that way..expect u might want to stay at places with people and some action.... |

| Yes, Misiek, August is also a slack month for tourism in India, so you need not book hotels in advance.

| There's really not much point in booking budget accomodation in advance. You'll need to inspect the place before you stay, so a booking might not be helpful. There are plenty of hotels everywhere. Unless there is some big religious festival or other holiday, I wouldn't worry about it. |
