Chittorgarh: lodging near the station?
We plan to spend a night in Chittaugarh (Chittorgarh) en route to Udaipur from Bundi. We won't have any opportunity for sightseeing, as we will arrive quite late and leave (by train) at 5:40 a.m.
A cheapish hotel near the station is the "go". All Lonely Planet has to say about this area is that it's impossibly noisy, "disappointing", and women might not feel comfortable in what's on offer. Not very encouraging! Maybe someone on this forum has stayed in a place that isn't TOO dire. If so, I'd be grateful if they'd share it with me! Many thanks! Alan. |

The retiring rooms at the train station might be worth a look as one would be very convenient in your circumstances, leaving so early in the am. I haven't stayed in the Chittogarh ones, but others I've used have been OK for a night's rest.

Thanks, Kingfisher! Do all stations have these, then? I thought it was only major centres. Then again, what would I know... maybe Chittorgarh is as big as New York!
