Chennai/East Coast Road Resort

Hi
Can anyone recommend which of the many hotels on ECR are going to be good for a 10th anniversay - I am looking at 2 or 3 days - beach, privacy, good vegetrian food - massage etc. A bit of a treat that's not hugely expensive.

MGM seems to have good packages but is it any good? Ideally want something right on the beach where we can be spoilt a bit. A private jacuzzi/couple massage would be so nice.

Is it too hot in July to enjoy it?

Is there anything near the Pondicherry end of ECR?

The posh place on the ECR is Taj Fisherman's Cove (part of the Taj group). It's probably everything you're looking for (I haven't stayed there, though).

MGM has some nice cabanas on the beach, amusement park, and some other stuff. I've toured it. It's plenty nice, and probably less costly than the Taj.

Ideal Beach resort in mamallapuram is awesome and very affordable, but dont know how well it recovered after the tsunami...
