cheap lodgin in kerala

hi
my friend and me are plannin on a 20 day trip in kerala, and from previous posts here decided on
varkala,
allepy,
kumarakoam,
kollam and cochin...
we wud like u'll to suggest certain offbeat places and activities not to be missed
and all the 'cheapest accomadation' at the above said places, also give us links to blogs
which wud have briefed bout travel in these places

and also is canoeing possibl on our own and places where we can hire boats.
waitin to hear from all at thorn tree

I stayed at Hotel Raiban or Raiben in allepy for Rs. 275 per night.
The rooms are simple, and this hotel is about 1 km from the backwaters...closest according to me....

There is another place called Hotel Prince...it is on the Allepy Cochin highway and is about 5 - 8 kms from the backwaters.....

I wanted to be as close to backwaters and chose Raiban....

Pls. read my travelogue that will give u more details that u r looking for.

ya i did read a lot of ur travelouges, ur cruise and everthin related, 'm a student and jus was lookin for more cheaper options as are on a 20 day trip, thanx for de postin thou

hi there,the 2 places I would like to reccommend are as follows,
1) cochin - ernakallum - modern plaza hotel - cheap,clean,basic,air-con,400rps/nght

2)allepey - allepey prince hotel - very good,good food,good pool,good entertainment
by the pool whilst dining in the evening,classical indian music
