Cheap & Clean Guest House In Calcutta

Hello Eeryone..is the above possible?

i hope someone out there can help me..im going to be in calcutta/kolkuta later this year and im looking for a very
cheap but clean guest house..

I know the situation changes quickly so was hoping someone who has been there in the last year or so can recommend me somewhere cheap and best..thanks in advance...A

Have you checked the HOTELS thread?. There are a couple there that might suit. Not sure of your budget, duration, needs etc, but have a look there.

Hi there..

yes i did look in that section..there didnt seem to be too much for calcutta in the way of guest houses with very good reviews.

Also with calcutta being calcutta things can change quickly so I was hoping to find someone who had been there in the last year or so who had found a good cheap place..

Im on a shoestring as ever..by the looks of things 250 rups a night is the minimum..i dont mind going up in price a bit if its got something special..butas im hoping to stay a few weeks - cheap is the word!..

But 250 isn't really expensive, it's a city that doesn't have an off season.
You can get cheaper, but I stayed in a place for 150, and it really was horrific.

250 is , what, 3 quid a night?. Not too bad.
Food is really cheap in Kolkata as well.
I ate really well for about 50 rupees a day.

Yes youre right of course..I guess i'l end up hunting around the sudder street area as you do..but I was hoping that someone who had been there recently had done the rounds and had found one that was clean and cheap..
