Thumbs up bodhgaya monastery

the tibetan monastery in bodhgaya is cheap & cheerful.
follow the main street ,off the road to gaya, upto the mahabodhi temple & go on past it to the intersection at the end of the street. cross the road, head to the right & the tibetan monastery is just there. all the rooms are double w/hot shower & have good ceiling fans. it is a monastery so there is no service or restaurant, but it is clean, quiet & peaceful & only 50 rupes/night.

Thanks volga found the link and msgd the hotel rcmdtn to my freinds.. (Oopps I am back in a forum - so "messaged the hotel recommendation")

Just out of curiosity, does most of the monastaries allow visitors to stay there? And do all of them charge with differential rooms like - double, A/c, delux ? Never been there so the dumb questions

sudheer, the rooms there are pretty basic (no AC or deluxe) and the charge is also modest. I haven"t stayed myself and am not sure they allow women to stay overnight (in Ladakh they don't) but I know someone who spent six months in a monastery studying buddhism as part of his US university course.

again, there is a thread somewhere here on monastery stays
