My fiance and I will be landing in New Delhi on September 29 at 5:20 AM... We are looking to book a hotel for our first night in Delhi. Were looking for a recommendation, your favorite place that provides (very important) an AIRPORT PICKUP that morning.
We are willing to spend upwards of Rs1500 for a decent place with AIRPORT PICKUP offered, nothing fancy is required, just a clean place for our first night to recover. Also, something tame that will provide us a comfortable transition into India for our first night (as we will be recovering from jet lag) and prepare us for the next 2.5 weeks of mayhem... Please tell your suggested hotel, and contact info for them if you have it. I appreciate any help I can get! Thanks so much! |

The name of that hotel makes me chuckle every time I see it.

Hotel Ajanata gets mixed reviews... most of the travelers are not happy with them...

I don't quite get it.
If you have your wits about you, you don't need airport pickup. If you wanna play it safe, 1500 incl airport pickup will NOT cut it!

re.
I would go for Hotel Tara Palace, this is where i stayed each time when returning to Delhi. It is situated next to chandi chowk in the heart of old Delhi and is quite an experience. Rooms are smart, clean and comfortable with en suites, a choice of breakfasts in the morning is included, the staff are very helpful and a free airport pickup was inluded.

I stayed at Tara Palace. The airport pickup never showed up and I had to navigate my own way there without a phone number or even an address. Lots of fun for my first day in Delhi.
Other than that, it was pretty good. Nice rooftop overlooking the old city. Avoid their recommended tour agency as his prices are about 50% higher than average. |
