Bed recommendations please!

Please name here, those hotels you've patronised, where the beds are comfortable and long enough for a person of above average height.

Our vist to Delhi, Agra & Rajasthan yielded only two hotels with good beds. They were Hotel Sheela (400 r's per twin room) & JasVilas (1600 r's per twin room) so room rate does not reflect bed comfort. We prefer medium to firm mattresses but not those awful boxes disguised as beds in Hotel Broadway.

We're seriously thinking about packing our Thermarest blow up camp mattresses so we can enjoy a good night's sleep!

Input much appreciated.

Packing the Thermarests!

Hi mike, thanks for the bad news!

I was just thinking I'd slink away and forget about expecting a response to such a stoopid question! and Yoh! I get a reply from THE BOSS COCKEY, NUMERO UNO!

I'm gonna take those pesky mattresses, even though they are a bit cumbersome and then, worse case scenario......the floor's looking good!

Have fun!

over and out!

Everything here seems to be foam or a combination of choir and foam. It is true that every Indian hotel bed I have slept in has been a touch on the hard side for me.

Being, just now, shopping for a bed, I find that sprung mattresses are almost three times the cost of foam ones, and no guarantee what they'll feel like, as the shop had only a small sample piece, not a full one to lie on.
I suspect also that, being, essentially hollow, they make great homes for wildlife!

Hotels are obviously going to buy on price and longevity...

Hi Nick-H

Jasvillas in Jaipur provided reversible mattresses, one side soft-one side firmer. They were excellent and we slept very well once we'd discovered this!

Hotel Sheela's, in Agra were foam but high density!

Bring your own to avoid a sleepless night, I guess!
