I'll be there in a few weeks with no reservations and perhaps am under the incorrect impression that I'll find something around 4000 rupees (I consider this expensive).
There is another thread on IM that discusses accomodations in BLR. |

Though hotels in bangalore are expensive alternative accommodation places are available and some cases they are better. They are some times refered homestay, guesthouses, bed and breakfast or service(d) apartments. See the links http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...ow/1309077.cms .
http://www.bangaloreaccommodations.co m is a good resource. Also www.bangaloreaccommodation.com a nice place for families |

Yup, now most prefer staying at company owned service apartments, when they travel on business.
Or else, they stay at Chennai, coz the hotels are cheaper and are of equally good quality. And chennai is just 30 mins by flight from Bangalore. |

Be aware that Bangalore is a WAY cleaner town than the others I've visited, and friendlier, and of course, there's a huge presence of MNC's like IBM, Intel, HP, etc. |

A colleague and I stayed at the VT Paradise hotel in Banglalore in October and found it to be great. It is extremely clean and quite comfortable and has no more or less than you need, if you're satisfied with a 3-star hotel. We now use it as the standard for our ideal hotel. You can click here for what they call their "Delightful Tariffs". They are delightful indeed..
