Agra: where to stay near Agra Cannt
We will only have one day in Agra, but we will be arriving (by train from Delhi) at Agra Cannt at about 10:30 at night. Obviously, we just want a cheap and easy-to-find place to crash for the rest of the night so that we can be up at the crack of dawn looking for the Taj at sunrise (should be easy to find!).
I don't fancy negotiating a new city around midnight looking for a place to stay that's within sight of the Taj.... better to be in bed half-hour after the train gets in so that we can be out and about, refreshed, in the morning. Does anyone have any ideas of where we should be staying? We'd prefer a small haveli to a large Holiday-Inn-type of place, we don't want luxury (even though an attached bathroom would be nice), and if you can actually see the place from Agra Cannt, so much the better. Thanks for all suggestions! |
