Ah that's an easy one.....Cosy guest house (250 rupees for doubles). That is such a relaxed place with rooftop overlooking the Mehrangarh fort. Its a friendly family that will make food for you and they also arrange tickets. I will go there in a few weeks again....

Hey probably around the time you are there. I am landing in Delhi 12 feb. And I think 16 or 17 feb I will go to Jodhpur....

Hmmm,
We stayed at the Pal Haveli in mid-December, and really liked it. It was well located and right across the street from the Omelette Man. The building was interesting - an old palace in the middle of town, and the rooms were huge and clean.
Contact address is: info@palhaveli.com. We paid 1800 rupees.

It did have rickshaw drivers hanging around outside that jumped on us as we left, but I found that was the case everywhere we went.

Some Jodhpur tips: Highly recommend making your way to the Tourist Bureau and booking a Village Safari (cost: 1200 rupees) - this was probably the highlight of our trip. We also had dinner at the Palace. We were told there would be a 800 rupee cover charge to eat there, but we called ahead to reserve and they waived the fee. The food was okay, and pricey, but the experience of seeing the inside of the gorgeous building was well worth it. Also, Fort was best we'd see in India. Audio tour was well put together.

jodhpur - we stayed at the blue house guest house at moti chowk. the family made us feel really welcome and plus the place was clean and neat. the roof top restaurant has a great view of the fort. We booked the room in advance and were picked up from the station. the rooms are big and good value for money. if you want the contact details PM me and i will let you have it.

we also saw all the hotels on Nai sarak and will not recommend any one of them.

yep, spent one night there - got the bridal suite - excellent bed!
great view of the fort from the rooftop restaurant.
if i remember we paid about RS200 each for the night, but there were nine of us variously accommodated and we just split the bill evenly.
next to the clock tower is a little restaurant which sells the BEST lassis i had, don't miss it.

Oh yes, makhania lassi, made with cream, saffron and cardamom @ Mirshi Lal, in the gateway just south of the clock tower. The most famous purveyor of makhania lassi...!
Hotel wise I would recommend Hotel Shahi, it's a small Haveli (the owners are very friendly and helpful and DON'T pay ANY commission to anyone!), I've stayed there last April and I've paid 350 INR for a room (pictures you'll find here http://www.specialplacestostay.com/s...FileID=ind1044) ...and their homemade Lassi is even better as the one you can get at the clock tower. Unbelievable, but true! ;o)
