Accommodation Sangla valley & Kalpa

I am travelling to Himachel in late June and would like some advice on the best places to stay in the Sangla valley and in Kalpa. The privately owned campsites seem intersting but expensive at their quoted rates of just under 4,000 rupees per night per couple, even with meals included.

In Kalpa you can stay at Hotel Kinner Kailash run by hptdc
you can check the detail on following link
http://hptdc.nic.in/hotel.htm

Near to hotel kinner kailash one more hotel is there with the name Shivalik Guest house (not very sure about name)which offers room between 300-600 depends upon the season.

In sangla you can stay at BASPA guest house run my Mr. Negi

Regards

There are few hotels in Sangla Valley beside HPTDC . You will find quite a few private hotels/lodges on either side of the road towards Chitkul . We stayed at PWD GH at Rackcham just beside the Baspa river. Many local people also rent their rooms . Dont be panic go there & I am sure you will get a good one .
At kalpa , accomodation is a bit problem . You wont find much . Kinner Kailash is a good option. Private hotels are either too costly or not up to the mark & as there is a scarcity of good/modearte lodging the demand is quite high & most of the time they charge/demand high rate. I facethis problem & have to stay at Reckong Peo instead of Kalpa.

Hey, I just returned from Sangla after spending 2 nights there . Went to Sangla after 18yrs and boy has it changed or has it changed . Its a mess with concrete all over the country side ... plastic littered all over ... millions of vehicles ... But besides all this the valley still has its natural beauty in the land scape. The hydrel project has also lead to the chaos in the valley ....

Anywasy ... as for ur question . Go stay at the Forest Rest House in Sangla ... Its a nice place and makes u feel ur miles away from all modernisation. Its across the river and u mite have to walk a bit ... but its worth every step.

PM me if you need any more details ....

Cheers

Thanks for the information. I skipped Sangla and went to Kalpa via Reckong Peo instead. It was a great ride, will post the details about it later.

Cheers,
Shamik
