Accommodation in Rishikesh
Hey Everyone,
I'm looking for accommodation suggestions from those of you who've been to Rishikesh. I've got everything planned and booked for my first trip to India except a hotel/guest house/b&b in Rishikesh. I've read through some of the reviews and threads here to get oriented. However, some of the posts are older and things change. So I understand that Laxman Jhula is the most "lively" (loud/party?) area in Rishikesh, Swarg Ashram is the somewhat quieter "main" part (for tourists/visitors) of Rishikesh and High Bank north of Laxman Jhula the quietest part, but a 20 minute walk up a hill. I'd like to stay in a relatively central location and not have a 20 minute walk in dark every evening to get to my hotel. I'm not looking for ultra-low budget nor am I looking for exquisite luxury. I'd just like a nice, clean place with a great view with friendly staff. I'd be perfectly happy staying in a INR 500 per night b&b if the place comes recommended. Price ceiling INR 3500 per night. I would appreciate your suggestions! Thanks! |

For that kind of money you can stay practically anywhere you want in Rishikesh. There are a few places Muni ki Reti side that you could check out including the GMVN Ganga Resort. Or stay in Bhandari Swiss Cottage and there abouts, where there are quite a few guest houses and swiss cottage accommodations ranging from 300 - 1500 per night.

Thanks for the tips! I'll check those places out.
I'm a bit surprised at how comparatively little info there is online about accommodation in Rishikesh. Most other hotels in the more visited towns have a million reviews. |
