Hi all - i'm trying to find accommodation (beach huts) to stay in with two of my mates for our 3 weeks in Goa later this year.
Never been before and any contacts we've managed to source to book huts through have either not responded (been reading other entries on here - have they been demolished?), aren't available or are charging the equivalent of £25 per person per night, which is much more than we can afford. We're looking for accommodation for three girls in Palolem from 16/17 December through to 2 January '07. Any and all advice gratefully received. Teeves |

Teeves, the owners of the beach huts generally do not like to accept advance bookings for the Christmas-New year period which is the most lucrative time of the year for these people. The best thing for you to do is to come and have a look around and check the availability and do the bargaining. Just a question of demand and supply.

Just turn up!!
This early in the season you're bound to find something by just turning up and see what's on offer. If you like you can just stay at a guesthouse or homestay until you've located the Hut you require.
Accomodation is a bit tight this year by all accounts but I feel confident you'll get what you want without booking ahead!! Colmb Patnem are nearbye and also warrent a look, if Palolem doesn't deliver, Agonda a bit North of here is also nice!! |

Thanks for the advice folks. A bit nervous about leaving it until the last minute, but if that's the way it works, then guess that's what we'll need to do. Hmmm.
Would it be worth booking a hostel or something for the first night whilst shopping about for a hut? Any good places you know of? We fly into Mumbai and staying a couple of nights there before heading down to Goa. So any advice for places to stay in Mumbai would be appreciated as well. Cheers, Teeves |
