Cool Accommodation in Goa

Hello I will be staying in Goa for 2 weeks, and fancy staying in a safe beach hut on the beach in Palolem, or any other nice quiet beach. Anyone suggest any secure places, with the mod cons of aircon and private bathroom, but on the beach. Also can anyone suggest an alternative of budget hotel accommodation with a pool near a nice quiet beach in Goa. Can anyone recommend activities, and excursions which I can do once I am there.

out of curiosity, why would you want a pool when you're right next to the beach?

I am not a very good swimmer , so prefer the safety and option of a pool!

Heres some Ideas for excursions with Daytripper, It's a good company owned & run by Eddie an english guy whose known goa for 35yrs.

As for the pool when you're next to the beach, Yeah I understand that. Not everyone feels confident in the ocean or indeed with salt water on your body.
My only advice is keep your mouth shut, pool water can be full of nasties,,,,,,,,

Talking Arambol

I stayed 18 days in Arambol (north Goa), in a simple, clean and comfortable room with private bathroom on the cliff side, I don't remember the name of the hotel, because the cliff side is full of rooms everywhere, and anyway is very easy to find a room there.

The beach is very nice, there is a sweet lake behind the beach (better than a swimming pool) and you can walk around the jungle.

have fun

Good advice. Some of the swimming pools in the smaller hotels are awful.

The only place with a pool in the Palolem area besides the 5 star resort is the Hotel Oceanic. www. hotel-oceanic.com owned by a nice couple from England. It's not on the beach and I don't think it has a.c. But I know in 2003 you could use their pool for 150 rupees a day!

Hi I suppose this is too far for walking or bicycle. Can you also say how far would be mandrem or morjim beaches?

The main idea is to stay on a quiet beach but within easy reach of parties near anjuna etc
