Trip to Leh Via manali-Need advice

Hi, I and my ife are planning a trip to Leh Via manali in Aug-Sep. The plan is as follows

Day 1 satrt from Pune Via train to Delhi
Day 2 reach Delhi morning and start from Delhi to Manali eveving
Day 3 Reach Manali Morning, Spend in Manali
Day 4 Start from Manali Morning via HPTDC bus, Halt at Keylong
Day 5 Start from Keylong, Reach Leh evening

Some Questions
1. Do you think I should tweak the plan to recduce AMS?, Please comment on the plan.

2. How much does it cost for a decent hotel in Delhi for a couple? It should not be too great, neither shady either. Suggest Hotels.

3. How much does it cost for a decent hotel in Manali for a couple in aug-sep.

4. Can you suggest how many days should I spend in Leh to enjoy it? Some bench mark. I know it will always be less but if I intend to visit famous places.

5. How should I travel between Leh and other tourist places in Ladakh? What will be the cost?

6. What mode should i prefer to stay in Leh? Hotels or Guest Houses? suggest please...

From Manali - Leh in two days for a first timer would really not be advisable. You need to Acclimatize first, atleast one extra day may do wonders.

2. How much does it cost for a decent hotel in Delhi for a couple? It should not be too great, neither shady either. Suggest Hotels.

Hotel costs may varry from Rs. 350 - 1500 a day, Please post your budget for our suggetions on Hotels in Delhi.

3. How much does it cost for a decent hotel in Manali for a couple in aug-sep.

Manali hotel rooms would cost not more than Rs. 500, you could find plenty of them around. Please bargain with the locals, they might come down to even Rs. 250. Mall road would be a wise option, DONOT ENTER OLD MANALI FOR HOTELS

4. Can you suggest how many days should I spend in Leh to enjoy it? Some bench mark. I know it will always be less but if I intend to visit famous places.

You can spend minimum of 5 days there. You can hire a local guide to give you the best knowledge of the area.

Places of interest are:

1. Monasteries: Shrey being the best of them, Hemis
2. Shanti Stupa
3. K-Top
4. Local Market
5. PangongTso Lake
6. TsoMooriri Lake
7. Leh Palace

These are just my suggestions.
