Sweet hardships in Ladakh

Me and my friend were sharing a bike going to Tsomoriri..It was going on smooth when we realized that we have had a flat tyre..tsomoriri was around 20 kms ..so we pushed the bike for the distance..it took us around 5 hours of fervent huffing ,puffing and pushing before we reached tsomoriri..It was painful at that time but now the memories are sweet..Does anyone else have similiar memories of sweet hardships in those terrains

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

No, we didnt have any puncture kit..we were hoping that we would get some help in tsomoriri(Karzuk) village, so we pushed ourselves till the lake ..We got help..A kind but greedy local charged Rs 6000 for a ride back to Leh with our bike loaded on the rear of the jeep.

6000rs, you guys were carrying lots of cash may be? it makes me wonder how much cash one must carry during such a trip, in case of mishaps.

Cash is another story now...We were not carrying enough cash..We promised him that we would pay him once we reach Leh..Once we reached leh all the ATMs were down..we couldnt pay him till next day..he kept us nagging all the while..
ATMs are a big problem in Leh..There are only 3 of them and all of them go down together..

As of how much money one should carry..may be a couple of thousands..All other requirements can be fulfilled at Leh
