Srinagar - Leh - Manali 2012!

Me and my 2 friends are traveling, same route , starting from sringar on 1st july morning. We will reach srinagar on 3oth June afternoon itself and back to delhi 15th July. If you can arrange to reach before 30th evening, you may probably join us.

I have booked these hotels:
Leh - Kidar Guest House (1500 INR per night)
Hunder - Olgok Guest House (800 INR per night)
Hanle Observatory - I am not sure about the rates here.
Sonamarg - mostly Hotel Sonmarg Glacier / HPTDC cottage if its free
Lamayuru - Niranjana GH / Moonland GH

As I said, for the lakes, I look for camps once I reach there.

We are 2 guys from coimbatore -planning to get Leh'd this July. Though we have a good guidance and inputs from seniors who got Leh'd last year, we still feel it would be good to join with other teams to make this trip a success.
So am here for partners for the upcoming trip in July.. Anybody willing to take us pls lets us know.

Our trip has been postponed by 2 days. Now we will leave on 19th June and hope to return beginning July. We are are couple with 2 kids traveling in a Scorpio. Here is our rough itinerary :

19th June - Delhi - Kud, Overnight at Kud
20,21 June - Srinagar (Stay at Houseboat on Nageen Lake)
22nd June - Srinagar- Kargil / Mulbek / Lamayuru
23rd June - Kargil - Leh
24, 25 June - Leh, Permits, Car Service, Local
26th June - Leh - Nubra
27th June - Nubra -Leh
28th June - Leh - Tso Moriri
29th June - Tso Moriri - Jispa / Keylong
30th June - Jispa / Keylong - Manali
1st July - Manali
2nd July - Manali (Spare Day)
3rd July - Manali - Delhi

We are skipping Pangong and adding Tso-Moriri as we have already been to Pangong a few times and have not been to Tso Moriri.
If anybody is traveling the same dates, msg me and we can drive together.

Thanks for reverting back Lakshmi, We can opt for a night stay at Tso Moriri, instead of Gya/Pang and then proceed to Serchu/Keylong. I was earlier thinking night stay @ Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri may be similar experience, but after reading few post of the IMRs, it seems I can also give Tso Moriri a shot.

About the traveling cost of 60K seems to be fair reasonable, I am talking with few travel agents, but they are quoting around 70K, will check with Tunkup, this week. Living + food cost of around 1.5 to 2 K per day will land you to around 30 to 40K, summing the total to around 100K. BTW how many days are you traveling and how many pax? As July is the peak season prices will start shooting up, as we come close to the next month.

Well Travel Agents would demand higher amount at the time of booking (some may even ask for 100% payment) and they have different cancellation policies. Booking through Travel Agents makes life easier however it woul prove to be little expansive as well as flexibility will be less. Thats the price you have to pay for convenience

Styler, Glad to know that you reached Leh. Must have enjoyed the trip thoroughly. How is Zozila this summer? What time did you cross Zozila? Is there any traffic regulation still at Zoaila?

Did you stay in Sonmarg? Could you please mention the name of the hotels you stayed in Sonamarg and Leh? Any feedback would be really helpful.

Also please note down the contact details of all the hotels you will stay during your trip (especially at Pangong, TSO Moriri, Sarchu) and please do share here in this forum.
