Hi Lakshmi,
just visited your picasa album. Congrats for the wonderful pics. Good to find that you had also found Turtuk so beautiful, as I did, last September. The pics of Joji-la stretch with the ice patches were also great.

Thanks soumenm. I am yet to post the pictures of Nubra, Turtuk, Hanle and Pangong. This weekend mostly. I am happy that you liked it. The trip was one kind of an experience which words fail to express. Should plan again next year. ;-)

Thank you so much to share your trip advises,
Pangong Inn looks great, I'm impatient to see the view from the window
What was the cost for the room?
If I understand you made any reservation? I wonder if I should do to be sure to have one of the 5 first rooms

Thank you
this trip looks great and I'm going to follow almost same path in the mid-August

srinagar-leh-delhi

Hi,

I'm planning to do the Srinagar-Leh-delhi circuit from July 17till August 15. Am the only traveller at present and wouldn't mind joining any other solo travellers / small groups so as to split taxi costs..

Haven't really done any major bookings so far..Am flying into Delhi on July 16. Since its just me, I plan to take it easy and keep it flexible. However if anyone is interested in joining me for any part of it, I'll be more than happy.

So please let me know if i can join u-it would be pleasure for me:]
thank you

The actual cost of room is 4100 INR including food. And 1500 INR extra for one person. But we got a discount and it was 3500 INR for 3 of us together.

And yes, we made reservation with Visuddha of Ancient tracks. No advance payments. But we didnot fix any room number. Luckily 3 rooms were free and we had the option of choosing which ever one we liked.
Visuddha can be reached at 9906971808/ 9419862542.

I used Sony NEX3. Although most of the pics are not taken by me & others didn't handled it well so few dirty spots are there. This travelogue will be updated regularly & I am not even reached half way.

I have just booked a taxi in Ladakh for my trip in next month.

We are starting from Srinagar, with a night halt at below places -

Kargil
Lamayuru
Leh
Leh
Hunder
Diskit
Tangtse
Spangmik
Chumathang
Hanle
Tso Moriri
Sarchu
Jispa
and then drop to Manali

The initial quote that was provided was 70K, but after much bargining it is reduced to 55K.

Seeing the rate charts for 2012-13 I thought it was a good deal and I confirmed the booking.

Hi Saugata, What car is he offering your for your journey? The deal looks good. We hired a Xylo for 55K covering same places except Hanle, was our Journey started for Srinagar airport.

I would suggest you to ask your driver for Xylo, as it is very much comfy, compared to other cars like scorpio, Innova, Tavera.
