No, Vinay,

The links are working fine, even after the first index map!

Hi Globalgoldie...
very good to see the enthu level of urs to follow the dream destination.....
Updates for Manali - leh road are not yet confirmed. But would say keep checking this space for updates. Well the weather ......hmm good question is gonna b chilly. Keep urself packed according to the coldest weather in delhi. I remember last year in June coming from leh I slept in -4C and it was windy and Damn cold.
Keep some liquor to warm up urself and not to get boozed otherwise.

1. No reliable maps for this lake route (and boy have i scoured the net!)
2. No idea if the route is possible on a motorbike, (too poor to afford a dirt bike, so it'll be 2 180 cc indian bikes). And if so what is the distance involved and road conditions as i am sure i'll have to lug that kind of fuel / spares with me.
3. Can't make up my mind to go in for the local monastry festival at Hemis (17th & 18th June) or the one at Lamayuru (27th & 28th), cannot fit both due to paucity of time, so which of them offers a better insight into the Ladakhi religion / life
So here's an SOS to all u knowledable folks to help me out of this fix, any resources / tips that might help me out with the above questions are welcome.
Thanks

finding maps for this region would be very tough, and taking this tour on a self drive would be of great risk. best would be to get in touch with some agents based in delhi hailing from ladakh to arrange for your tour

do carry a foot pump .practice changing tubes at least once, dont expect much from your motorcycle even she will run on stipulated oxygen supply. clean & readjust the chain at a regular interval.. avod late travel hours. ride safe & do wear helmets.
