Olizane Maps

According to vistet and AndreasW, the olizane maps are the best on Ladakh.

olizane every time. Big enough to read but great detail. the altitude measurments are spot on, especially valuable for anything off the beaten track. use no other!

Downside is they are swiss economy expensive

To qualify the above post, the olizane maps are worth every penny! they are produced in small numbers and i do not suppose there is much profit on a small turnover. A labour of love that i wish had been done years ago.

The old British india maps are not bad but the altitudes are erratic - you just couldnt measure it easily in those days, and some of the trails have moved. The best combination is a cheap trek route guide picked up for a few rupees in the bazaar in leh, whcih will give a convenient overview and then the olizane one for detail.
