Shared Trip to Ladhak in October
Hi guys
This is my first post here but am a regular reader. Over the last few days I have been reading a lot on the Ladakh forum and have found tons and tons of information for planning my trip. My sincere thanks to all those who have posted so much information here. Now I'm myslef planning for a trip to Leh in first week of october likely 2nd oct...But I'm all alone as of now and need some people who can chip in and Njoy the ride with me. I know its too short a notice as its already 26th Sept, but I like trip to be offhand as they are more fun. Here is my itinerary which can be felxible as per the guys who are intrested. 1 2nd Oct Delhi to Manali (prolly by Bus Volvo) 2 3rd Oct Manali to Keylong/Sarchu (By Taxi ) 3 4th Oct Keylong/Sarchu to Leh (By Taxi) 4 5th Oct Leh (Heaven) 6 Now from 5th to 11th Explore Leh and nearby lakes, Trekking, Monestries 7 12th early morning fly back to delhi Now we can also leave on 9th Oct also in a cab back to delhi... This option is open. so above is my itinerary which is flexible, but I prefer the trip shud be between 2nd Oct to 12th Oct, Ok Now about me.... I'm a Software Engg.... working in gurgaon, but i'm not at all a workholic believe me I'm better off on roads then sitting in my cubicle working. Need some time off and cannot afford to miss leh this time out or it will be a whole another year of wait. So whoever intrested please mail me alive83@gmail.com Anticipating alot of intrests..coz the more the merrier..... Ciao..... I know the time is less.... |

hi
hi .i am back today from keylong -manali.
there was a snowfall last week and so plenty of snow was there plus some landslides as must be aware o.. road is opened and was ok till keylong but i was told at keylong that road beyond sarchu is open but its prefereable not to go as it is the time for the closure and there can be snowfall and blockage anytime. best time togo is maximum by september.there was a guy who was on honeymoon and started for leh but had changed his plan because of the bad conditions and was enjoying at keylong for last 6-7 days. i am also interested to go there may be next year by selfdriving .iam from delhi.. working in gurgaon |

Hi narcissus
Who gave you the idea to to Leh in the month of October. as Shaleen said September is the best time at that time of year because by October midweek Rothang La would get snowed down depending upon the condition and it is not even the second highest motorable pass - What I am stating is that snow fall would ideally start by october and the roads and pass would get blocked big time - throwing a spanner in your program or worst case secnario trapping you in Leh if you do manage to get that far. I would ideally suggest to rethink and try when the snow starts melting - Even I am planning a trip with my friends and am trying to see which is the right month to start Feb or March or April ? let me know if you find out Cheers |
