Road conditions - latest reports HP/Ladakh

Hi all, I have a question about the bus schedule to/from Ladakh in september. I will arrive in Manali on 4 september to visit Ladakh.

On the HPTDC website the last bus from Manali to Leh leaves on 8 september. The last bus back from Leh to Manali leaves on 10 september.

Are there other buses which leave at the end of september? Or is my only option taking a flight back to Delhi in that period? Otherwise it will be a very short trek in Ladakh.

Share-jeeps go up and down till early November, or until the passes are closed.

Ah ok, thanks. Do you think it will be easy to get such a jeep and other tourists to share it with after I return from trekking?

Yes, no problem. Share-jeeps are like buses, you don't have to go looking for other passengers. Just go to the stand and get yourself a seat.
There'll be regular buses (HRTC) too, but since they're govt-owned they may stop running earlier, in October.

Can anyone inform, that till what dates are the camps in Chandertaal available. As in will be there around August 15th...Also, if not Chandertaal then where can we do a night halt between Kunzum & Rohtang?

Also, how is the roads from Kunzum to Rohtang this time around.. Rains...Slush???

Can someone please tell me the status of srinagar-leh highway and manali-leh highway and what are the weather conditions as i am leaving for leh today on bike.

Srinagar - Leh: All good till Baltal. Bad from there till 20 KMs ahead of Kargil. Good after that till Leh except few patches.

Manali-Leh: Bad at most of the sections. But you will be amazed to see wide tar roads at 4500m at various sections.

When I say bad, it is for our understanding. Whatever has been done by BRO at this part of the world is worth a salute.

I got an update yesterday that rohtang was in a bad state as always. Too much slush.

Last time I took the bus in the very last days in October , and they kept on running weeks after that.

Don´t go now : road out in several stretches after cloudburst , heavy damages towards the Solang side. More heavy rains coming.

We are leaving for Leh from Delhi on Aug 11. Basically, doing Delhi Manali on Aug 11, Manali Jispa on Aug 12 and Jispa Leh on Aug 13. All our bookings etc are done. After the cloudburst, how is the road condition? Can we continue with our plans? We will traveling in a Xylo/Innova with a driver.

This is really heartbreaking. I've to catch bus Manali-Leh on 20th this month! I don't know when even this Manali-Leh HPTDC open again.

Im going to Leh on 11th morning by Delhi-Leh flight, and returning on 20th by Leh-Delhi flight. Do you think Vistet I should change my plans?
