Please help a cyclist to reach Tso moriri and Tso KAR
Hi i am going to Leh from manali on 31 july,2008 on cycle. I am alone . I have done the solo travelling from manali to leh on my bike last year also in october. I want to go to Tso mmoriri and tso kar From Leh on cycle. Can anybody tell me a fool proof way to reach Tso moriri and tso kar from leh. If anybody have done that before i want to talk to him personally....

One tip, stick to the Upshi - Chumathang route, decent enough roads for most parts (barring the final ~25km stretch) and villages at regular interval and not too steep.

actually the company carabin which you have told about equipment rent has shifted its base to gurgaon and they have stopped giving tents on rent.....please assist me...as i will be alone on cycle and i need a tent not more than 2.5 kg on rent...your effort will be highly appreciated

Actually most of the camping stores in Delhi have stopped giving equipment on rent. Zanskar for one does gives out tents on rent, few others might as well, here is a list of Camping Equipment stores in India

hello yogesh,
can u plz tell from where can i get cycle panniers. Stikage has stopped manufacturing it.....last year i went in month of october and it was very cold at that time....but this year i am going in August....plz suggest that how will be the weather on the way as i am going on cycle....and too much clothes i cannot afford to carry |

directions for TsoMoriri
Hi,
There is another way instead of going all the way to Upshi. Once you cross Moore Plains and head for Tanglang-La, on the way when Tanglang-La is 27 kms ahead, you need to take a right turn.. there are 2-3 roads(similar dusty paths as you would see in Moore Plains), all of them would lead to Tso-Moriri. -Jayad |

Dear Jayad,
your right that there is right turn for Tso Kar from Debring, but for Tso morit & Tso Kar inner Line Permits are Reqd & they same can only be taken from Leh Itself, so in that case the route from Upshi makes more sense |
