Places in the town Leh....
hello people....
i plan to cover Shanti stupa,Gurudwara, leh palace,Stok palace,Leh Bazaar... can you suggest me any other local places in leh... Further if any of these have any specific timings or week holiday..please do tell me... thanks in adv..... -Utopian |

Stok palace is a little far from the main city. I hope you are planning to get a vehicle to do this. On the way, you could spend some time at Sindhu Ghaat (next to Indus), its a nice place to sit in the evening.
Similarly for Gurudwara - i assume you are refering to the one close to Nimmoo. This is quite far from Leh (at least 25 mins drive) and in the opposite direction as compared to Stok Palace. The best thing to do IN Leh is check out the bakeries, eateries, etc and watch sunset at Shanti Stupa. You could also try climbing up Leh Palace to this small Gompa on top (cant recall its name) from where u'd get some nice views of the city. I think there is some other thread in this forum which covers all the other places within Leh more comprehensively. |
