Motorcycle trip to Ladakh in August

Hi guys n gls,
This Sam here from chandigarh. Last year I been to Leh on bike and this year again I am planning to move on bike to Zanskar valley in mid of Aug. Anyone who has already been to Zanskar on bike or trek to that area plese guide me for the trip.
If any one of you also planning to go on this rute in Aug please coordinate with me.

I want to do Leh Ladakh on Bike. I stay in pune Maharshtra and am planning to Ship my bike there.

Any takes for this in August...

Hi Sam

We are planning Delhi-Manali-Key Long-Leh. And for planning purposes have kept third week of August. Probably we will Start from Delhi on the 16th...

Will update further, as and when...

Hi Rabid,
In thied week of Aug???? it will be fine time to travel and I may get leave by the time from my job. But my plan is not by Kelong to Leh due to 2 reasons..
1. Last year I traveled through this route which is in very condition coz it is being two line and every where work is in progress. It will be better, (even if u r planning Leh on bike )to go via Sirinagar-Kargil-Leh.
2. I m planning to go Zanskar, which is abt 220 km from Kargil, and Kargil is only 220 km from sirinagar and road is in exlent condition. The total distance from Jammu to Kargil is 520 and can be covered in one day.
you tell your prog.. How many of you are planning? which bike u will be having? what is the age group range? and total number of days??

Hi Sam

We are 4 Bikes all Bullets 350 and age group should be roughly between 25-30.

I was just wondering, with all this political disturbance would we be able to make it?

Hi Rabid,
The disturbance is only in Jammu city. If u r going sirinagr via jammu, u can skip jammu. From kathua before Samba there is another route which splits to Udampur and ists short by 25 km, n u reach Udhampur without touching Jammu.More over u r planning via manali, then u wont have any prob. ok b in touch.

Even i am plannig the road trip on my bullet electra on 29 augest 2008, with my freind we wil book our bullet from mumbai to jammu and from jammu-srinager-kargil-leh-kelong-manali-delhi.
so what you think if at all we can plan togather this trip from mumbai
