Manli to Leh on 20th May

1. If Manali Leh road is open?
2. How to get car from Manali to Leh?
3. Will weather be good to be around in Leh / Ladakh? (any 1 knows Rigzin Dorjey's (Ladakh travels & tours number?

I´d be surprised if it wasn´t , but this year has meant a lot of surprises , including the thirty centimeters of snow over the Rothang yesterday...

The roads are open, and 20th should not be a problem at all.

For Q2, you have not mentioned if you are driving your car or renting one. Renting is easy, just walk in to any agent in Manali and ask.

Weather should be fine, unless there are any surprises.

Thanks sp much for the reply. Planning to rent the car. Also any idea how much they would charge from manali to leh? Planning to go slow... 2 days (1 night stop).?

Rs13,000/- is the rate. (Please do check that the taxi has good set of chains for the rear wheels, this is needed for snow.)

You can stay in Keylong and leave early the next morning to reach Leh in the evening. This will also be a bit hectic.

Manali-Leh is still officially closed at this moment, please check the link (or my updates ). BRO planned to throw open the Rothang , not the whole road , today : that was before the last snowfall. It´s a fair guess that you can go as far as Keylong and Darcha any moment now, the rest remains uncertain.

Also, What is the best time for stok kangri trek?
