Thumbs up Manali Leh motorbike trip

Hi all,

I'm planning to rent a bike and do the Manali Leh tour on mid September but it's the first time... could you help me please?

1) is it possible to do the trip alone?
2) mid september could be a good moment?
3) I don't have good mechanic abilities, is it a problem? what do you suggest me to do?
4) what other places near Manali/Leh should I visit?

Thank you

3) I don't have good mechanic abilities, is it a problem? what do you suggest me to do? HOOK UP WITH OTHER RIDERS, SAFER AND EASIER IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS
4) what other places near Manali/Leh should I visit? SEARCH MANALI AND LEH TREADS

Thank you

Thank you so much...

My dates and tour are flexible... Is there anybody planning a similar trip in mid September?

It is possible.
My friend and I could be looking to get to Delhi beginning Sept then go the Ladakh - Manali - Leh route. However this could change to October and then I think it could be too cold.
I should know in the next few weeks.
Crewing is always good.

Mid-September can mean first snowfalls : anything from nice post card to a lot more . Gear up with this in mind. October could mean major issues for the same reason.

Thank you vistet,

I have seen that you have wonderful pictures also in October...So what do you suggest to do? see the weather forecast and then decide? Is possible to organize everything only few days in advance (I mean reservation at Hotel/ tent camp and the bike rental?

Thank you for your advice!

Hey Jackoos, I will not be arriving until end of October now, so plan has changed, will ride to Rajastan then up to Dharamsala or either way, not sure. What did you decide?
