Enjoyed your post, Natasha, and especially your singling out the Border Roads Organization for special commendation. I'd like to meet the guys in charge of writing those hilarious roadside ditties and quotations. Must be a quirky, wired bunch. My favorite was on one of those stubby highway markers in the Nubra Valley. "Without geography, you're nowhere. --Jimmie Buffet". We were whizzing out of Hundar and the desert flats of the valley on our way back up the nailbiting 18,000 foot plus Khardung La. I couldn't believe it. It seemed to sum up Ladakh perfectly. Nobody can say the place doesn't have geography. It practically invented it.
(Maybe we should start a thread of best BRO quotes?) |

Was a patient reader to go through the complete post including wonderful presentation done by you natasha.
Besides those avid pictures of yours does pose a lot in itself then just mere subject. I am just a kind of lone biker to such places where you dont find too much of crowd... and i hate being in crowded places... Natasha, whats that Camera you are using in those last pics of yours. I am more addicted to SLR's and Biking when it comes to obsession and pure passion After all Natasha, its been wonderful place to bring the best from all of us. FreeBirD |

Hi, Lovemax, I didn't understand all your questions, but...
thanks for the patience and the compliments. I have an ordinary samsung automatic with a little zoom. Nothing special. But what I was more dissapointed about was that they screwed up the developing and did a completely sloppy job on the scaning. Anyway... Have recently got hold of a Cannon SLR, but could not use it for the Leh trip. Something wrong with the shutter magnet. Ladakh in itself is a paradise for lone rangers. It's only Leh that is crowded. Once you come out of Leh, you won't meet another human being for miles and miles. |

Kailash, Thanks for that one! That's my absolute favourite. And somehow I just didn't get around to taking a pic of that. Now I can keep your copy.

Natasha,
I was 99.99 % sure you would like it! But this will not replace a birthday cake! Last edited by kailash35 : Oct 6th, 2005 at 09:07. Reason: Natasha's birthday! |
