Manali-Leh-Manali / Travel partners required - shared taxi or self drive

this sucks man.. the flight is only about 1.5 K more than the Tatkal Rajdhani, and now i can't even cancel that Tatkal ticket and going to loose a day in Delhi for no reason !!

Well i enquired for trains from pune and they all go thru MP so no problem there. Also rates are Rs.2100 for 3 tier AC and 2600 for 2 tier AC in tatkaal. Is the flight only 1.5K extra even if we book so late? Also i will have to take only sampark kranti since it reaches in the morning while other trains reach in the night. But all trains thru MP take about 24 hrs anyways. Any idea which station in delhi we shud get down at so that the bus stand for volvo to manali is closest?

Simanta, i guess, you would be reaching Delhi on 22nd late evening & would miss the Raj bus.

Lets all team up. You two, we two, Sujal from Pune, and any other, I guess, 5 to 7 ppl would be enough, hire a private passing vehicle from Delhi with a driver & enjoy.

OR may be hire taxi's at different points, atleast we can be sure, we don't have to search for partners for every excursion.

Hey Ashish, I plan to take a train from pune on 21st morn, Saturday, reach delhi on 22nd morn, sunday, and in the same evening take a bus for manali. Dont want to waste an extra day in delhi or pune. What do u say? lets fine tune our plan. Also Shri & co. wanted to leave on 21st itself.

We are looking for 2 partners for Delhi - Manali - Leh - Kargil - Srinagar - Delhi trip spread over 12 to 13 days.

We (my wife, I & another guy I met on this forum) have finally decided to hire a private passing Qualis for the entire Delhi-Manali-Leh-Kargil-Srinagar-Delhi trip covering this over a period of about 12 to 13 days.

The owner of the vehicle is the driver himself.
A friend of mine just did the leh trip with him, with absouletely no problems of any nature whatsoever.

The rate is 2500 Rs per day for hiring of taxi (qualis) + toll + drivers food.
i.e total of 2500 X 12 days = Rs 30,000

Divided by 5 ppl i,e 6000 Rs per head.

Rs 6000 per head towards transportation cost for a leh trip that too in a private car, for the entire trip is a steal.

Accomodation + food & misc expenses as actuals, or as per whatever you would like to spend.
You can stay & eat in the choice of your hotel.

We plan to start journey from Delhi anywhere between 22 to 30 June, as soon as we are able to find partners.

Itinerary can be discussed at length, once partners are thru.
