HI!

YOu can do this trek on your own without any problems. So go for it!
Though it DOES help the local economy if you take a local fellow with you.

Thanks mountaingirl
I was thinking of doing this trek very slowly, staying in one of the villages for a few days. Any suggestions?

Hi!

Staying in Yangthang will give you the option of going for a day hike to the nunnery at Ridzong.

Personally, I prefer Hemis SHukupachan and Temisgam(lower).

Enjoy your trip!

PS: If you are a regular trekker, it may not be THAT challenging for you as there is a duty motorable trail throughout and you may see a car or two. The road ends at Hemis Shukupachan - and you need to cross over to Temisgam - pretty nice walk - I always feel like Indiana Jones.(Of course, you also cross the Meptak La on this day).
