Leh trip September
Leh trip September
We (3 women) have planned Padum - Lamayuru trek in the 2nd half of September.
One of us, the skilled traveler had injury and lies in hospital
.
We 2, without experiences in India and Himalayas, will be in Leh from 17.Sept to 4 Oct. and would like to do some 1 - 4 daytreks from Leh.
We are looking for some pleople, who will be there in the same time and could help us.
Thanks

I intend to travel to regions of the Nubra Valley, Tso Moriri and Pangong Tso in the second week of September along with my partner. Though we won't be doing day treks, you can come along with us if these areas interest you. We are Indians and do have some (if not much) experience traveling in the hills.
Matula,
Welcome,
Sorry to hear about your friend but dont worry, Leh is easy and safe for women travellers and you can organise trekking easily once you get there. There is no need for you to cancel the idea of Padum to lamyuru just because there are now 2 of you. Check the threads here for info and come back to us with specific queries. If you are both fit and do some research you will be fine

In all my anxiousness, I did forget to assure you that the region is indeed safe for women travelers and there are quite a number of operators who can help you organize your treks depending on your requirements
Yes, it relatively safe for women travelers, but of course use your common sense and keep your wits about you as you should do anywhere.
You might like Ladakhi Women's Travel Company, who organise treks with women guides. They have a lot of options for short treks like you want, 1 to 4 days.
